Thinning of adult coniferous forests is also regularly applied in order to start the regeneration of the forests near to the maturity age.

The silvicultural interventions are planned to obtain products with neutral and positive value of timber while maintaining the ecological stability of the stands and the soil protection. An operative management of the forest that allows to portray the higher volume from silvicultural interventions when compatible with the requirements of sustainable forest use.

Who we are

The LIFE AForClimate project aims to provide concrete options to achieve solutions in forestry and forest planning  that are effective in adapting to climate change.  The objective is to adapt the management of the beech forests (Fagus sylvatica) to the variability of climate and its changes during time by programming forest management and interventions on the basis of climate cycles.
